Xylometazoline
Composition
The formulation contains Xylometazoline Hydrochloride 0.1% with sodium chloride, disodium edetate, benzalkonium chloride, and purified water as the active ingredient.
Indications
Indicated for the temporary relief of nasal congestion due to common cold, sinusitis, and allergic rhinitis.
Side effects
Common side effects include nasal irritation, dryness, sneezing, headache, and rebound congestion with prolonged use.
Precautions
Short-term use only (up to 7 days)
Contraindications
Atrophic rhinitis, hypertension
Dosage and administration
2-3 drops in each nostril, up to 3 times daily
