Vildagliptin
Composition
Each uncoated tablet contains 50 mg of vildagliptin with other excipients accordingly.
Indications
It is indicated in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Side effects
Mild to moderate side effect has been observed such as headache, weight gain, low blood sugar, arthralgia, and urticaria.
Precautions
This drug is to be cautiously used in patients with liver disease, pancreatitis, and renal impairment.
Contraindications
This drug is contraindicated in patients with type 1 diabetes, hepatic impairment, diabetic ketoacidosis pregnancy, and lactation.
Dosage and administration
In adults usual dose consists of a tablet of 50 mg to be given orally with food.
