Ulipristal Acetate

Composition

Contains Ulipristal Acetate, a selective progesterone receptor modulator (SPRM).

Indications

Used for emergency contraception and treatment of uterine fibroids in premenopausal women.

Side effects

Headache, abdominal pain, nausea, menstrual changes, fatigue.

Precautions

Rule out pregnancy before use; monitor liver function during prolonged use for fibroids; avoid repeated emergency use in the same cycle.

Contraindications

Pregnancy, severe liver impairment, unexplained vaginal bleeding, hormone-sensitive cancers.

Dosage and administration

Emergency contraception: 30 mg single oral dose within 120 hours (5 days) of unprotected sex. Uterine fibroids: 5 mg orally once daily (for up to 3 months, under medical supervision).
