Tolterodine

Composition

Contains Tolterodine Tartrate, usually 1 mg or 2 mg tablets; extended-release (ER) capsules are typically 4 mg.

Indications

Used to treat overactive bladder symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and urge incontinence.

Side effects

Dry mouth, constipation, dizziness, blurred vision, headache.

Precautions

Use cautiously in patients with glaucoma, liver or kidney impairment, and those at risk of urinary retention.

Contraindications

Urinary retention, gastric retention, uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma, and hypersensitivity to Tolterodine.

Dosage and administration

2 mg twice daily (immediate-release) or 4 mg once daily (ER), adjusted as needed.
