Tirzepatide

Composition

Each single dose pen contains 0.5 ml solution of 2.5 mg, 5 mg, 7.5 mg, 10 mg, 12.5 mg, or 15 mg tirzepatide with the following excipients: sodium chloride 4.1 mg, sodium phosphate dibasic heptahydrate 0.7 mg, and water for injection.

Indications

It is indicated to control high blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes

Side effects

Mild to moderate side effect has been observed such as Dyspepsia, Decreased appetite, blurred vision, and joint pain.

Precautions

Kidney or pancreas disease, a history of diabetic retinopathy or any stomach problem, pregnant or breastfeeding

Contraindications

It is contraindicated in people with Medullary thyroid cancer Multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome Diabetic retinopathy disease of the gallbladder, pancreatitis type 1 diabetes mellitus.

Dosage and administration

In adults 2.5 mcg dose is administrated subcutaneously once a week. The maximum dosage is 15mg.
