Ramipril
Composition
A single-dose uncoated tablet available in 2.5, 5, and 10 mg contains Ramipril IP equivalent to 2.5 mg, 5 mg, and 10 mg, along with other ingredients.
Indications
The use of this drug is indicated in the treatment of myocardial infarction prevention, hypertension, and stroke prevention in severe cases.
Side effects
Mild to moderate side effects have been observed. Side effects such as nausea, dizziness, fatigue, headache, syncope , abnormal kidney function, diarrhea, postural hypotension, and hyperkalemia.
Precautions
To be prescribed cautiously in patients with a history of trouble breathing, trouble swallowing, or swelling of the hands or feet.
Contraindications
This drug is contraindicated in cases of angioedema, hyperkalemia, hyponatremia, pregnancy, and hypersensitivity to any ACE inhibitors.
Dosage and administration
In adults, the usual dosage in cases of hypertension consists of 2.5 to 5 mg once a day to be administered orally.
