Propofol
Composition
The formulation contains Propofol 10 mg/ml with soya oil, egg lecithin, glycerol, sodium hydroxide, and water for injection as the active ingredient.
Indications
Indicated for the induction and maintenance of general anesthesia or sedation for surgical, diagnostic, or therapeutic procedures.
Side effects
Common side effects include pain at the injection site, hypotension, respiratory depression, and in rare cases, propofol infusion syndrome.
Precautions
To be used with caution in patients with cardiac dysfunction or allergies to soybean oil or egg products.
