Oxymetazoline

Composition

The formulation contains Oxymetazoline Hydrochloride 0.025% with benzalkonium chloride, sodium chloride, disodium EDTA, and purified water as the active ingredient.

Indications

Indicated for the temporary relief of nasal congestion due to common cold, hay fever, or other upper respiratory allergies.

Side effects

Common side effects include nasal irritation, dryness, sneezing, and rebound congestion with prolonged use.

Precautions

To be used with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease or hypertension.

Contraindications

Contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to Oxymetazoline or concurrent use of MAO inhibitors.

Dosage and administration

The recommended dosage is usually 1-2 sprays in each nostril every 10-12 hours, not exceeding 2 doses in 24 hours.
