Oxybutynin

Composition

Contains Oxybutynin Chloride, typically 2.5 mg or 5 mg in tablets; also available in extended-release (ER) and topical forms.

Indications

Used to treat overactive bladder symptoms such as frequent urination, urgency, and urge incontinence.

Side effects

Dry mouth, dizziness, constipation, blurred vision, drowsiness.

Precautions

Use cautiously in elderly patients and those with glaucoma, liver/kidney issues, or gastrointestinal disorders.

Contraindications

Urinary or gastric retention, uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma, and hypersensitivity to Oxybutynin.

Dosage and administration

IR: 2.5–5 mg 2–3 times daily; ER: 5–10 mg once daily.
