Nebivolol

Composition

A single-dose uncoated tablet is composed of Nebivolol hydrochloride IP equivalent to 2.5 mg or 5 mg of Nebivolol as its constituents along with other ingredients.

Indications

Usage of this drug is indicated in the treatment of hypertension, stable or unstable angina, and arrhythmias.

Side effects

Mild to moderate side effects have been observed. Side effects such as nausea, headache, dizziness, trouble sleeping, lightheadedness, a slow heart rate, and bloating. In severe cases rashes, and swelling on hands.

Precautions

This drug is to be prescribed cautiously in patients with severe hepatic disorders or kidney dysfunction.

Contraindications

Nebivolol is contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic impairment Pugh class C impairment in nature, Raynaud’s disease, and Myasthenia gravis.

Dosage and administration

In adults, the usual dosage in patients with hypertension is 5 mg/day once a day for a week, to be administered orally. The dose should not exceed 40 mg.
