Methylcobalamin
Composition
Injection- Each ml of sterile solution contain cyanocobalamin 3000 mcg with other excipients accordingly. Oral tablet- Each uncoated tablet contains methylcobalamin IP 500 mcg with other excipients accordingly.
Indications
This drug is indicated in patients with vitamin B12 deficiency.
Side effects
Mild to moderate side effect has been observed such as nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, and loss of appetite.
Precautions
If one does have a lack of iron the use is considered to be done carefully. Besides, if you have low levels of potassium, you need to avoid the usage of this remedy.
Contraindications
This drug is contraindicated in patients with one who is sensitive to the elements.
Dosage and administration
Oral tablet- In adults, the usual dose consists of a tablet of 500 mg to be given orally three times in a day with or without food. Injection in adults 500 mcg injection is to be given three times weekly for 2 months.
