Lidocaine

It is a local anesthesia indiacted to relieve pain by blocking nerves from sending painful signals to the brain

Mild to moderate side effect has been observed such as blurred vision, slurred speech, anaphylactic reaction, low blood pressure, malignant hyperthermia

This drug is to be cautiously used in patients with allergic reaction, pregnancy and lactation

It is contraindicated in people with congestive heart failure, hypersensitivity

For IV/IM- In adult 50- 100 mg injection to be given followed by 20-40mg for every 10- 20 min. Topical- mixture containing lidocaine base 2.5% and prilocaine base 2.5 % apply to the skin before any procedure
