Irbesartan
Composition
A single-dose uncoated tablet of Irbesartan consists of 150 mg and 300 mg of Irbesartan IP, respectively, along with other ingredients.
Indications
Usage of this drug is indicated in the treatment of hypertension, and hypertension in diabetes type 2 patients.
Side effects
Mild to moderate side effects have been observed. Side effects such as Nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, fatigue, a slow or irregular heartbeat, a rash, itching, or swelling in some severe cases.
Precautions
To be prescribed cautiously in pregnant females, it is recommended not to be taken before driving or while working with heavy machinery, as it causes dizziness.
Contraindications
Irbesartan is contraindicated in patients with renal artery stenosis, hyperkalemia, and reduced kidney function.
Dosage and administration
In adults, the usual dosage for hypertension is 150 mg per day to be administered orally, but it can be increased up to 300 mg per day.
