Indications

used to treat opioid-induced constipation (OIC) in adults who have chronic non-cancer pain and who are receiving opioid therapy.

Side effects

abdominal pain, nausea, diarrhea, flatulence, and dizziness

Precautions

used cautiously in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disorders, bowel obstructions, or renal impairment

Contraindications

Contraindications include hypersensitivity to methylnaltrexone or any component of the Formulation, as well as known or suspected gastrointestinal obstruction.
