Dydrogesterone
Composition
Contains Dydrogesterone, a synthetic progestin structurally similar to natural progesterone.
Indications
Used in menstrual disorders, threatened or recurrent miscarriage, infertility due to luteal insufficiency, and hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
Side effects
Nausea, headache, breast tenderness, bloating, breakthrough bleeding.
Precautions
Use with caution in patients with liver disorders, history of depression, or cardiovascular disease.
Contraindications
Known or suspected hormone-sensitive cancers, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, active thromboembolic disorders, liver dysfunction.
Dosage and administration
Typically 10–20 mg daily depending on indication and treatment duration.
