Brimonidine
Composition
Contains Brimonidine tartrate, an alpha-2 adrenergic agonist.
Indications
Used to lower elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension.
Side effects
Eye redness, dry mouth, allergic conjunctivitis, fatigue, drowsiness.
Precautions
Use cautiously in patients with cardiovascular or cerebrovascular disease; avoid contamination of the dropper tip.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to brimonidine or any component of the formulation; children under 2 years.
Dosage and administration
One drop in the affected eye(s) three times daily.
