Venlafaxine
Composition
Contains Venlafaxine hydrochloride, a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI).
Indications
Used to treat major depressive disorder (MDD), generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder, and social anxiety disorder.
Side effects
Nausea, headache, insomnia, dry mouth, dizziness, increased blood pressure.
Precautions
Monitor blood pressure, especially at higher doses; taper gradually to avoid withdrawal symptoms.
Contraindications
Concurrent use with MAO inhibitors; hypersensitivity to venlafaxine.
Dosage and administration
Typical dose: 75–225 mg daily, usually administered as extended-release once daily.
