Nabumetone
Composition
Contains Nabumetone, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, primarily COX-2 selective.
Indications
Used to treat symptoms of osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other inflammatory conditions.
Side effects
Gastrointestinal discomfort, headache, dizziness, rash, potential risk of gastrointestinal bleeding and cardiovascular events.
Precautions
Use cautiously in patients with history of GI ulcers, renal impairment, or cardiovascular disease; monitor for bleeding and kidney function.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to nabumetone or NSAIDs, active gastrointestinal bleeding, history of asthma triggered by NSAIDs.
Dosage and administration
Typical adult dose: 1000–2000 mg once daily or divided doses.
