Edoxaban

Composition

Contains Edoxaban, a direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC) that is a selective factor Xa inhibitor.

Indications

Used to prevent stroke and systemic embolism in non-valvular atrial fibrillation, and to treat and prevent deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE).

Side effects

Bleeding, anemia, rash, elevated liver enzymes.

Precautions

Use with caution in patients with renal impairment or bleeding risk; avoid abrupt discontinuation to prevent thrombotic events.

Contraindications

Active pathological bleeding, mechanical heart valves, severe hepatic impairment.

Dosage and administration

Typical dose: 30–60 mg orally once daily depending on indication and renal function.
