Clopidogrel
Composition
Contains Clopidogrel bisulfate, typically available in 75 mg and 300 mg oral tablets.
Indications
Used to reduce the risk of myocardial infarction, stroke, and other vascular events in patients with atherosclerosis, acute coronary syndrome (ACS), or after PCI.
Side effects
Bleeding, bruising, rash, diarrhea, headache.
Precautions
Monitor for bleeding; effectiveness may be reduced in poor CYP2C19 metabolizers.
Contraindications
Active pathological bleeding, such as peptic ulcer or intracranial hemorrhage; hypersensitivity to Clopidogrel.
Dosage and administration
Standard: 75 mg once daily. ACS: 300–600 mg loading dose, then 75 mg daily with aspirin.
