Bisoprolol
Composition
A single-dose film-coated tablet of Bisoprolol, available in 5 mg and 10 mg, is comprised of Bisoprolol fumarate IP equivalent along with other ingredients.
Indications
The use of this drug is indicated in the treatment of mild to moderate hypertension, angina pectoris, supraventricular arrhythmias, and premature ventricular contraction.
Side effects
Mild to moderate side effects have been observed. Side effects such as diarrhea, cold hands or feet Side effects such as diarrhea, cold hands or feet, constipation, blurred vision, dizziness, tiredness, weakness, and a slow heart rate.
Precautions
This drug is to be prescribed cautiously in patients with severe hepatic disorders or renal dysfunction.
Contraindications
This drug is contraindicated in sick sinus syndrome, second or third-degree heart block, AV block, bradycardia, cardiogenic shock, and pulmonary edema.
Dosage and administration
In adults, the usual dosage consists of 5 mg per day to be administered orally and the dose should be increased accordingly.
